The radio resets when the blower starts. A warning appears when the headlights are switched on, then disappears at the next start. With several systems behaving strangely, it's easy to suspect several failed components or a computer that needs replacing. Sometimes the common connection is on the return side of the electrical circuit. The difficult part is finding which connection misbehaves, under what load, and why it passed a quick check earlier. A ground fault can be simple to repair once located, but it still takes careful testing to identify correctly. A Ground Is an Electrical Return Path Vehicle circuits need a complete path for current to flow. Many components return current through the body or engine and then through cables or straps to the battery. Those connections must have low enough resistance for the circuit to operate as designed.
