Hi Nathan, Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I wish I had known about your concerns prior to your vehicle leaving the shop as I would have been better able to remedy your dissatisfaction if there was indeed a misdiagnosis. After reviewing your vehicle's history I recognized the make and model has a tendency for the fan to pull too many amps and resulting in the fan relay to become stuck. This was one of the reasons for my tech's diagnosis. It is very likely that when you replaced the thermostat (which is a mechanical part) the fan and relay temporarily began working again due to it becoming unstuck. Please be cautious that your vehicle's fan and fan relay will likely have issues again since the thermostat is a mechanical part and cannot ultimately fix the electrical issue with your fan/fan relay. Our recommendation is to replace the fan and fan relay (not the fan switch). If you have any questions about this I happy to discuss via phone and would have already done so in person had I known of your concerns prior to you leaving my shop. I had two issues with two different vehicles. My 2005 Avalanche had a front drive axle seal leak and leaking transmission cooler lines. It was a big job and a bit complicated. Gowen's did a great job in a very timely manner. They cleaned up the mess and since I was out of my vehicle Rick Gowen took me home. Once that was done the next day I switched vehicles with them and they got to the bottom of what I thought was a valve tick. Fortunately it was only an exhaust leak which they fixed quickly considering their high volume of vehicles they were working on. Everyone involved was professional, helpful, and very respectful. When I have mechanical issues to deal with in the future I'll be going to Gowen's! It's a hidden gem in the heart of Fairburn Georgia. Thanks to all for a great job!
